VACATION WITH A DOG ON THE MONTENEGRIN COAST
Summer has arrived, and with it the opportunity to spend your vacation on the beautiful beaches of Montenegro. If you bring your four-legged friend along, it will be an unforgettable holiday filled with joy. In this blog post, I will present everything you need to know about vacationing with a dog in Montenegro, from trip preparation to finding dog-friendly beaches and accommodations where you can stay without any issues with your dog.
PREPARING FOR THE TRIP WITH YOUR DOG
Before you embark on your journey, check if your dog is vaccinated, cleaned, protected against internal and external parasites, and if this information is recorded in the dog's passport. If your dog is on any medication or treatment, with the advice of a veterinarian, bring all the necessary medicines for your dog during the vacation.
ACCOMMODATION ON THE MONTENEGRIN COAST
Montenegro offers a wide range of accommodations that allow dogs. You can find hotels, villas, and apartments, but always check their rules before making a reservation. I should note that before booking accommodations, make sure that dogs are allowed on the beach in that particular area, so your dog doesn't have to stay alone in the room while you are at the beach.
DOG-FRIENDLY BEACHES WHERE YOU CAN STAY
Whether you prefer sandy, pebble, or rocky beaches, in Montenegro, you will find a beach to suit your taste and needs. However, it's important to know that most city beaches have specific rules and do not allow dogs or only allow them during certain times.

Herceg Novi - one pet-friendly beach is located on Šetalište 5 Danica, below the Military Hospital.
Budva - in the central part of Slovenska Beach, marked with the number 8F.
Buljarice - the far eastern part of the beach, marked with the number 27L in the Atlas guide.
Bar - the beach at Topolica near the Željeznica Bridge, marked with the number 8A in the Atlas guide.

This is a list of organized city beaches where you can stay with your dog. If you plan to stay in a place that is not on this list, inquire whether there are any other (e.g., wild) beaches where dogs are allowed. Don't forget to bring water for your dog, which should always be accessible. Poop bags should also be with you at all times so you can clean up after your pet.
PRACTICAL TIPS
Don't feed your dog a few hours before the trip.
Bring enough food that your dog is accustomed to eating for the entire stay.
During breaks on the journey, take your dog out of the car. Never leave them alone in a parked car.
Check if there is an emergency veterinary service available at your chosen destination.
Always carry your dog's passport, which should contain records of all vaccinations and the dog's health status.
Provide shade for your pet on the beach and allow them to cool off in the sea as needed.
