For thousands of years, turmeric has been used in India and because of its healing properties it has spread worldwide. This super spice is much more than just a regular addition to food. It is known to have a positive effect on human health, but few people know that it is a treasure trove for the health of dogs.
I have researched for a long time and came across many testimonials of positive effects on the immune system and overall health of dogs, which inspired me to try to include turmeric in the diet of my pets. I prepare this super spice according to a recipe by an Australian veterinarian who balanced all the ingredients to make turmeric have the best effect on the health of dogs.
BENEFITS OF TURMERIC:
- • Has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties

- • Excellent for the heart. The basic ingredient, curcumin, prevents inflammation and thus protects the most valuable and most strenuous muscle

And most importantly, there are no unwanted side effects
DOGS THAT SHOULD NOT USE TURMERIC:
- • Pregnant bitches
- • Dogs that already use blood thinners
- • Dogs that have problems with stones in the bile or kidneys.
TURMERIC IS A SAFE NATURAL MEDICINE FOR DOGS, BUT BE SURE TO CONSULT YOUR VETERINARIAN BEFORE STARTING TO GIVE IT TO YOUR DOG.
PREPARATION METHOD FOR TURMERIC PASTE
You will need:
1 cup of water
½ cup of olive oil
1/2 cup of turmeric and
1 ½ teaspoons of ground pepper
Preparation:
Heat the water and oil until boiling, then remove from heat and add the turmeric mixed with black pepper. Stir until a thick, homogeneous mixture is obtained. Pour into a clean jar and when cooled, cover and leave in the refrigerator. This way the turmeric can be used for two weeks.
The prepared paste can be given to the dog directly in food or mixed with a little water or yogurt. The dosage depends on the size of the dog, but it is definitely best to start with a smaller amount and gradually increase. Give small dogs ¼ teaspoon for the first few days, and then gradually increase to ½ teaspoon. Since turmeric is quickly excreted from the body, it is best to give a smaller amount two or three times a day.
I hope that your pets will be healthy and that this recipe will be useful in maintaining their health and boosting their immunity.
